Independence Day will soon be here and we’re ringing it in in true Bogue fashion — we have gathered six 4th of July cocktail recipes for you to guzzle at every backyard BBQ, beach bonfire or fireworks party you’ll be attending.  

These patriotic recipes from around the web will keep the spirit alive all day long. 

Rocket Jello Shots

Ingredients

Blue Layer

  • 1/2 cup Water, boiled
  • 1 box Instant blueberry jello
  • 1/2 cup Vodka

Red Layer

  • 1/2 cup Water, boiled
  • 1 box Instant cherry jello
  • 1/2 cup Vodka

White Layer

  • 1 envelope Gelatin
  • 1 cup Milk, divided
  • 3 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Vodka

Instructions

  • In a bowl, add boiling water and berry Jell-O mix and stir until completely dissolved. Stir in Vitzellen Vodka.
  • In a separate bowl, repeat the steps with cherry Jell-O mix. Allow mixtures to cool. 
  • Meanwhile, make white layer: In a medium bowl, sprinkle gelatin over 1/4 cup of milk. In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring remaining 3/4 cup milk to a simmer. Turn off the heat then stir in sugar, vanilla, and vodka. 
  • Pour heated mixture over plain gelatin mixture and stir until gelatin is completely dissolved. Let cool for 10 minutes. 
  • Lightly spray 20 two-ounce plastic shot glasses with cooking spray. Spoon about 1 tablespoon berry Jell-O mix into each. Refrigerate until set but not completely firm, about 15 minutes. 
  • Top with about 1 tablespoon white gelatin mixture. Refrigerate until set, about 10 minutes. 
  • Cover with about 1 tablespoon cherry Jell-O mixture. Refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours. 
  • Enjoy!

Firework Boozy Shakes

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Vitzellen Vodka
  • 1 oz Raspberry vodka
  • 3 scoops Raspberry sorbet
  • 1 oz Curaçao
  • 6 tbsp Milk, divided
  • 6 scoops Vanilla ice cream
  • Sprinkles, garnish

Instructions

  • Add 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 2 tbsps milk and Curaçao to a blender. Blend and pour into two glasses. Freeze 20 minutes. 
  • Clean blender and add 3 scoops vanilla ice cream, 2 tbsps milk and Vitzellen Vodka. Blend then pour into glasses on top of blue layer. Freeze 20 minutes. 
  • Rinse the blender. Add 3 scoops of raspberry sorbet, 2 tbsps milk and raspberry vodka. Blend then pour over white layer. 
  • Top each shake with whipped cream and garnish with sprinkles.  
  • Enjoy!

Sour Patch Watermelon Slushie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Vitzellen Vodka
  • 1 cup Sprite sub club soda if you don't prefer sweet
  • 1 cup Lemonade
  • 2 cups Ice
  • Pink food coloring optional

Instructions

  • Add Vitzellen Vodka and Sour Patch watermelon gummies in a container and soak overnight. 
  • In a blender, add 2 oz of the now flavored vodka, Sprite, lemonade, ice and pink food coloring (if using). 
  • Blend. 
  • Garnish with Sour Patch candies. 
  • Enjoy!

Blueberry Collins

Course: Drinks

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Bombshell Gin
  • 9 oz Blueberries
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Lemon juice
  • 2 cups Club soda chilled
  • Lemon wheels garnish

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, add blackberries, sugar and ½ cup water to a boil. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat to a simmer. Stir occasionally until fruit is soft. 
  • Allow syrup to cool.  
  • Strain mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher. 
  • Add Bombshell Gin and lemon juice to pitcher.  
  • Add ice to fill and stir until chilled. 
  • Add ice to Collins glass and pour mixture.  
  • Top each with ¼ cup club soda. 
  • Garnish. 
  • Enjoy! 

Blueberry Gin Cocktail

Course: Drinks

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Bombshell Gin
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz Simple syrup
  • 5 Blueberries
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. 
  • Shake vigorously. 
  • Using a fine-mesh strainer, strain mixture into cocktail glass. 
  • Garnish with mint leaf. 
  • Enjoy!

Drunk Strawberries

Course: Dessert, Drinks

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Vitzellen Vodka
  • 1 pint Strawberries
  • 2/3 cup White chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp Coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp Blue sprinkles

Instructions

  • Trim tops of strawberries and place in container filled with vodka. Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours. Make sure to rotate strawberries halfway through the soaking time. It’s important that you refrigerate while soaking to ensure the strawberries don’t get overly soft or turn colors. 
  • Drain strawberries. Make sure to dry them well. 
  • Place white chocolate chips and oil in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on 50% power for 1 minute. Stir and microwave for another 30 seconds. Stir until smooth. 
  • Dip strawberries in chocolate and sprinkle with blue sprinkles. Place on a wax paper lined plate to set. 
  • Refrigerate until hardened (roughly 15 minutes) 
  • Enjoy! 

4th of July Shots

Ingredients

  • 1/2 oz  Blue Curaçao 
  • 1/2 oz Vitzellen Vodka
  • 1/2 oz Grenadine

Instructions

  • Pour the grenadine into a shot glass 
  • Using the back of a spoon, slowly pour the Blue Curaçao on top of the grenadine 
  • Pour Vitzellen Vodka into the shot glass using the same spoon technique 
  • Enjoy!
