Winter Cocktails with Vodka

While vodka may not be the first spirit that comes to mind when you think of a warm cocktail for winter, we are here to change your perspective.

Hot Vodka Lemon

This drink is a crowd favorite in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. It’s sure to warm you up after a cold day of shoveling snow or it can even serve as a medicinal remedy.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of water
  • ½ cup of honey
  • Lemon
  • Vitzellen Vodka, to taste
  • Cinnamon sticks

Directions:

  1. Mix the water and honey
  2. Add Vitzellen Vodka to desired taste
  3. Top with lemon zest
  4. Add cinnamon sticks
  5. Enjoy!

Hot White Russian

This delicious alternative to hot cocoa will pair perfectly with your favorite winter treats.

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz. fresh coffee
  • 2 oz. Kahlua
  • 2 oz. whole milk
  • 1 oz. Vitzellen Vodka
  • Whipped cream for topping

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients and heat until warm. Do not boil.
  2. Pour into mug and serve topped with whipped cream.
  3. Enjoy!

Bourbon Winter Cocktails

The Hot Toddy

The hot toddy is a classic winter cocktail that is simple to make and can be customized with a variety of flavors to suit your taste.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz. of JAPC Bourbon Whiskey
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • ½ oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup of hot water
  • 1 tea bag

Directions:

  1. Heat the water in a tea kettle or a microwave. Once water is heated, allow the tea bag to steep according to directions.
  2. Coat the bottom of a mug with the honey.
  3. Add JAPC Bourbon Whiskey, lemon juice, and tea to mug.
  4. Stir well.
  5. Enjoy!

Hot Buttered Whiskey

Although this drink requires a two-step process, we promise it’s worth it. The best part? The batter stores for quite some time, so you can save some for later!

Ingredients:

For the Batter:

  • 1 stick of room temperature butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup agave nectar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp all-spice
  • 1/8 tsp clove

For the Drink:

  • 2 oz. JAPC Bourbon Whiskey
  • 1 oz. batter
  • 4 oz. hot water

Directions:

For the Batter:

  1. Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix for 1-2 minutes until ingredients are incorporated.
  3. Place the batter on a sheet of plastic wrap
  4. Wrap tightly and refrigerate until firm (at least 1 hour).

For the Drink:

  1. Add 1 oz. of batter to warmed mug.
  2. Add JAPC Bourbon Whiskey and hot water.
  3. Stir well.
  4. Enjoy!

Winter Cocktails with Salted Caramel Spirits

Our Salted Caramel Spirits, derived from our John AP Conoley Bourbon Whiskey is the perfect addition to almost any good winter cocktail.

Eggnog Latte

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of fresh coffee
  • ¾ cup eggnog
  • 2 tbsps. JAPC Salted Caramel Spirits
  • Whipped cream
  • Nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Prepare coffee as desired.
  2. Warm eggnog.
  3. Add eggnog and JAPC Salted Caramel Spirits to coffee. Stir thoroughly.
  4. Top with whipped cream.
  5. Garnish with nutmeg.
  6. Enjoy!
